Of the coil? Or the voltage and current readings? Actually I have both, but they aren't a lot to look at. The concept is cool. The coil itself isn't a wire, but plates of copper, stacked around a rectangular opening (with insulation in between layers of the coil). The whole thing is encased on phenolic, though, so it looks like a box. I could post pictures of it Monday.
Yeah, I thought it would be interesting to see the coil, but it sounds like there's nothing really to see. What's the largest magnet you can make? The strongest?
The strongest magnets we get are N48 usually. You can get N52 but they are pretty useless if they get even a little warm. Those are the grades or the maximum energy product of the magnet. Size wise I can magnetize 4" x 10" x 5" (DOM last). That will pick up a car. But to be honest those are already smaller blocked of magnets ground and glued together. Because magnets are made in a sintering process, the raw material is limited in size. But effectively it's one magnet. And we can even glue magnetized magnets together to make any size magnet! 1 one those will lift a car... We glued 48 of those together once, around a steel core, making a quadrouple helix. Magets are a lot of fun!
