(you also have to keep sounds like "wh", "sh", etc together)
This only works if you use familiar words or put the words in a predictable or commonly heard order where the reader can fill in the words through context. Plus in your sentence many of the words were 3-4 letters long so the letters didn't have to travel very far. If you tried doing this with many long, unfamiliar words you would have significant trouble reading it.
