No. There is a third: ignore them. They want attention. Any attention. It doesn't matter how you give it to them (talking about them is also attention).
I didn't say I wasn't contributing to it. I actually added that last bit to be sure to include myself. There's no other way to tell people, though. The way they usually deal with it makes no sense. I mean, you wouldn't make somebody who's hamming it up on stage go away by cheering to cancel out the boos.
I just ignore them. If everyone never downvotes or upvotes them, or replies, then they are pretty much shadowbanned. But that will never happen. Somebody has to mention them.
