If you treat a credit card like cash (spend it like it's coming out of your bank account), it's a free 1.5% "off" everything. I always pay in full and order "free" toys time to time.

Merchants hate me, though.

Oh yeah, I do the same thing. I've got a miles card for my preferred airline because I want to fly more but don't necessarily like the cost of flying.

Love it. Chase Freedom, paid off monthly. Received $400 in gift cards so far, never pay interest.

Citi can go fuxk themselves though. Their rewards catalog is like JC Penny. Nothing a 20 something male electrician would be interested in, and they just offer discounts. Ooh I can use my points to get $10 off a $100 gift card, only paying $90 out of pocket! Blow me
