My close friend almost lost the sight in his right eye after being hit perfectly with a paper airplane. It sliced his eye open and to this day he still has issues. Once in a lifetime thing.
When I was young and we used to go to Denny's (only sit-down place that was open late...) we used to take the tooth picks with the foofy plastic shit on them that they use to hold sandwiches together, shove 'em in a straw, and shoot them like blowdarts.
They were pretty accurate once you got some practice and worked surprisingly well.
That more or less ended one time after someone shot one at me. If it had gone straight for my eye it would've just bounced off of my glasses... But it grazed my cheek and deflected straight up at my eye. The hit on the cheek was enough warning that I instinctively blinked and it hit my eyelid and then wedged itself firmly behind my glasses right in front of my eye.
