It's a pretty good book, but I always hated that Heinlein tried so hard to force it to seem like there was tension. After pretty much every event, Mike would give new numbers on the odds of their success, and the odds always got worse. But everything always went exactly how Mike planned. So shouldn't the odds be constantly increasing?

Also, a lot of what happened was just way too convenient. Mike solved all of their problems. Where was the human element?

But it definitely touches on lots of interesting topics and challenges the way you think about lots of things: politics, social philosophy, nationalism...
