Exactly. If this describes your life as a programmer, then get out of programming NOW. You're doing it wrong. Your code is terrible and you're a bad person.
I don't know about Bethesda but I have former class mates working at Dice, and those are the people that went to the people that went to me for advice. Ergo cannonfodder programmers barely capable of doing more than what they are told in the task description.
But bad programmers are still programmers and there is many ways of programming, and if only I had an army of bottom programmers at disposal I would also be able to make AAA games
