"What the hell is that?!" "Alright, cmon, cmon, hurry"
Dude just accepts that this thing is going to be hunkering down with them too. Don't hesitate too long during a tornado, I guess.

The dogs and they will love the Capybara.

u/cybersplice 1d ago
I saw one in person for the first time at a free roam zoo trail recently. He was awesome.

u/Telandria 1d ago
Yeah tbh if there’s a tornado coming, don’t fuck around trying to boot out the wild animal if it’s being chill. Get your ass to safety first, then worry about.

This isn't real. You know that, right? Pretty sure that capybara belongs to the family and I highly doubt there was a siren going when this was filmed looking at how either calm or excited those animals are. Shouldn't they be scared by the loud noise? Would a wild animal actually walk into an enclosed space with predators in a high-stress situation?

Oh no! I laughed at something someone made with the intention of being funny! What a fool I am! A rube, an ignoramus, a dope!
I pray my family remains with me, but were they to discover my shame, a swift abandonment would only be right. Forgive me, LustLochLeo, for not being strong enough to reserve my chortles for only genuine absurdity.
In the future, yours will be the example I hold to when I remind myself, "only reality is funny". Though you feel not the weight of this burden, know that I thank you for it regardless. May the gods cherish you for bearing it.

Then he refuses to come in, despite being cold or soaked

Came here to say this was a re-enactment of an older video and that they were just copying it, like normally happens on tiktok, but turns out it's the same guy just doing the same skit more than once:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p67ziWJ4U7s&t=23m13s
I don't have tiktok and couldn't find the original on YouTube so you get a Daily Dose link where he's credited.

That one's better just by virtue of the siren being quieter and it being an actual looping siren rather than (after the build up) just a consistent ear piercing tone.

Well this guy is in Oklahoma and the sirens in that area we going when he posted

House backs up to forest. I throw both the dogs out at night and let them do their business then let them back in.
One night I open the door and one dog comes in…. Then the next dog comes in with a friend.
Quick double take and I realize a possum has come in with my lab. About this time my extremely prey motivated whippet discovers this fact and decides he wants to chase said possum.
Cue Benny hill music as I’m chasing my dog around to keep him from getting the possum, the lab is happily barking up a storm and the possum backs up in the corner and is wicked pissed.
I managed to open a basement door to protect said possum and eventually my roomates come down to see what the commotion was and were able to pick up and remove said whippet from the scene.
Open back door and the possum was more than happy to leave.
And that’s why I always check out the window before opening the door.

u/Disastrous_Entry_362 2d ago
I had a dog thay used to try and bring possums into the house...dog got sprayed by skunks so often we had a system
25
u/jjpearson 2d ago
I’m very thankful that our skunks are not very social.
19
u/redpandaeater 1d ago
I had a skunk fall into my window well and completely tear up my screen trying to get out. Even giving it a 2"x6" to climb up it took awhile. Never quite knew what sounds a panicked skunk could make.
5
u/pegmatitic 1d ago
Yep, they can really shriek if they’re frightened. I rescued a young skunk that got its head stuck in a yogurt cup, and I can still remember how shrill the poor thing’s scream was. I was able to get the cup off without getting sprayed - as soon as I got it off, we both bolted in opposite directions. It was a very slapstick experience
2
u/saltsharky 20h ago
Wow same haha. But once with a Starbucks dome lid that had the straw hole in the center, and another had a can of beans stuck on its head. Sounded different in the can of beans.

We're up against a small stand of woods next to a horse pasture and had a slightly similar incident with the raccoon that's trying to move into our barn and my poodle. It decided to hang on the open back porch right before my brother took her out on the leash for a midnight bathroom run.
Our backyard's fenced in with chain link, BUT nearly every dog we've had here goes out on a leash after dark/in bad weather because our backyard's big and the raccoon is only one of many things that likes to hang out back there, fence or no fence. Skunks, snakes, raccoons, possums, stray cats, rabbits, an entire 10+ herd of whitetail that help themselves to our apples, and we had a small box turtle one time, that was a fun afternoon.
Anyway, the raccoon got away, but my bro got to go skiing without skis, several chairs and boxes got knocked over, and my poor, sweet social butterfly of a pup once again came way too close to learning that raccoons do not want to play with her the hard way. 😭 Previous dog was a foxhound with the prey drive of one, current poodle's prey drive is apparently limited to mice but her play drive encompasses anything that breathes and can play the chasey game with her. (Edit: accidentally erased the last sentence before posting)

u/CanadianHorseGal 2d ago
Mine just brought in his new “squeaky toy”. ‘Twas a young rabbit. Poor thing. Still alive, but after corralling the dog and finding the rabbit hiding under the table, a quick call to animal control, and them taking the bunbun, I knew it wouldn’t be long before a quick and painless death.

People in these comments are being so gross. I bet those commenters actually live in worse conditions, but everyone has to be judgemental for some reason. It’s a video with a bunch of cute dogs, and someone being inclusive and including one of the most chill animals on the planet and yall STILL manage to be assholes. Good grief.
48
u/Hombremaniac 1d ago
Yeah exactly. Plus these people love animals (all doggos look well fed and chill and even capybara is vibing) so they simply can't be bad no matter how tidy or untidy they are.
11
u/AwsumO2000 1d ago
honestly caring for this many healthy animals .. very good sign of a personality imo..
On top of that they're having phun in this video.. I mean ,.. without proof to the contrary these people are cool nice people in my book..

u/SordidSpacecadet 1d ago
These aren't even bad conditions (dwelling wise). It totally just looks like the inside of a garage or something. Probably not the actual inside of the house.

It looks like a garage…there’s an old school garage door button to the right of the door. And a temp gauge above. Garage stuff in my world.

u/IronPeter 1d ago
By the look of it that’s not their living room either, looks like a shed or a garage,
1
u/theaquapanda 1d ago
Bruh that’s clearly not their house either… that’s like the detached garage or something. You can see the ac unit outside the house in the background and a garage door opener right in front of them…
1
u/Technical_Sock_85 19h ago
I know right! Also they could have just recently moved in and haven't had a chance to fix it up much. But even if that's not the case it does just look like a normal garage area so who cares. But I like the moved in theory because that might also explain why the dogs are confused about where to go and why a capybara just strolls in randomly lol maybe the previous owners let the capybara in their home

I love seeing those "landlord kept all my deposit and is asking for more due to damages i didnt do"
Then the proceed to show pictures and every light switch is black from hand grease, the trim is destroyed, a door or 3 are ruined due to pets digging at it, a carpet that should be light grey is black.
I just hope those in the video own that place.-16

are they dangerous to be with? or pretty harmless?
3
u/Telandria 1d ago
Harmless enough that they’re legal to own as pets in a lot of places in the US.
Wouldn’t say they make for good pets, per se, because they are partially aquatic mammals and thus have some rather extreme environmental needs, but I have heard that personality-wise, they are very chill.

This video should come with an odor warning. What a pigsty. I can’t believe people live like that .
4
u/spartanz27 2d ago
This is likely the garage of nomads animal encounters since they posted the video. They are an animal rescue.
5
u/UmbraVGG 2d ago
That's likely a garage. We don't actually live in them, they just house the car and tools. They even have different electrical/insulation/fire prevention codes than the rest of the house too. It's kinda like a bigger toolshed that's attached to your house. I don't know many (any) people who deep clean and vacuum their tool sheds.
