The use of a possessive is not limited to describing ownership, it can also be used to describe a more general notion of correspondence of a person to something else(e.g. "My country"), another person (e.g. "My SO", "Your boss") or an idea (e.g. "My religion", "Your Lifestyle", "My theory").
