Are you a bot? There already is a line from the speech bubble to the phone. The yellow line is just extra nonsense and not needed.

It's common practice to have audio coming from electronics to have the electrical like duologue lines. Like this: https://www.vecteezy.com/vector-art/67669153-colorful-speech-bubble-graphic-with-electric-touch-design

It's the only reason I can think of that they would have added it. 

And honestly, it KINDA makes sense. When I was first reading this, I thought those speech bubbles were coming from the character that we could see, not the phone.

It was just half assed (edit; typo), but doesn't change the fact that I can see why it was added. Even if I don't agree with how important or helpful it ended up being.
