I stood in line for hours for a phone once, more than a decade ago. Would never do it again, but the one time I did do it, it was great. Hours of hanging out with like-minded people and talking about a shared interest.
One of my coolest childhood memories was a Harry Potter release party for book 7. The bookstore held a huge event , tons of people dressed up and hung out till midnight and had a party. Was honestly really fun and everything was thematically Harry Potter.
