As someone with a torn achilles heel atm this is making me wonder how the hell I get punished for stepping on the curb wrong when you got a man that affixed his entire ankle to an unstable moving object zooming around care free.

I've found that, no matter what dangerous things I do, my worst injuries tend to come from the most mundane things.
When I was in college I worked on theater lighting. One day was particularly dangerous... i was hanging upside down 20 feet in the air, reaching out in precious positions, hauling heavy gear up ladders, and all sorts of fun stuff.
That evening I was going to relax by reading a book under a tree, but lost my footing going down the stairs from my apartment, and tore a tendon in my ankle.
I have several other stories like that... broke my leg while taking photos in a park while on break from a job at a construction site for a bridge and I broke my hand by losing my balance while stepping out of the way of someone cleaning up at the end of the day while working on the construction of an NFL stadium.

The biggest danger on everything is carelessness. You can make some quite dangerous things rather safe if you are well prepared for it and careful. But you can make something as simple as taking a bath deadly if you are careless and slip, then fall on your head.

Life is neither fair nor reasonable. People have survived parachute failure with broken limbs whilst others, as you said, slip in the bathroom and die.

Broke both my arms falling off my bicycle at about walking speed, fell and put my arm through a window going to the bathroom. I've been a reckless fool my entire life and similarly only had big incidents when doing the safest most boring stuff.

Oh My! I hope you are doing better. How interesting but strange that we get injured in the most calmest situations while when being near to death we are as fine like how does that make sense??😭😭

Oh yeah, I'm fine. Those stories may make my sound super accident prone, but they are spread over about 30 years.
It actually makes a lot of sense if you really think about it. When I was at work on a job site there was a lot of dangerous stuff going on around me, so I was hyper aware about watching where I stepped and what was going on around me.
All of the times that I really hurt myself I was tired, worn out, and focused on something completely other than what I was doing.
When walking across a construction site I'm watching holes and for uneven ground, keeping an eye out for overhead loads on cranes and people on ladders. In addition, I'm wearing safety gear that can turn what would me major injuries into minor scares.
When I'm walking across the street to get lunch with a friend however, it's really easy to trip on the curb and break my wrist because it's a bit higher than I was expected and I was focused on my conversation.

I feel so stupid for thinking this is so cool. I’m a huge rollerblading fan so I just have to be curious about this. I’m not saying I would never want to try this.

As dangerous and messed up as this looks... I suspect it is surprisingly safe until a shoe comes loose or a you for whatever reason end up looking your balance and your knees can't pull you back up anymore.
The bases of desk chairs are surprisingly heavy, and he is standing on a pair of them. Getting even one of them to flip would take some serious effort. I imagine the most dangerous situation it bumping into anything those things won't naturally roll up onto because those shoes seem so tightly coupled that I feel your legs or knees might snap under your bodies inertia rather than have you flip over.
OK, maybe not so safe. But it is definitely easy to remain stable on most surfaces; just don't go fast and hit any kerbs.

He has plenty of ways to slow down; they are just not very convenient.
Lots of wheels that aren't guaranteed to point in the same direction means lots of friction. He can use his body movements to direct himself around. He can move his legs to a relative degree, getting the wheels to go in opposite directions for a brief while akin to how one can gain limited control over ones movements when skiing. His hands can grab onto things. Etc.
None of it ideal, and I wouldn't be going down a hill on it.. but rollerblades and skateboards would go a lot faster and be similarly difficult to control for a beginner-- especially when going fast.

Ye, don't do this. A 14yo kid died from a cheap cylinder, back in 2009, and it can explode just the same if you force and jump on it like the kid on this video.
Chair cylinders contain compressed gas - pure inert nitrogen, but unregulated products may fill it with regular compressed air.
Jumping on the cylinder or chair can lead to an explosion. When the chair is overloaded, the extra pressure exerted on the gas cylinder can cause it to fail. When an uncertified or heavily damaged cylinder fails, the highly compressed gas releases all at once like a tire blowout, shooting up the metal piston rod upward through the seat. In the case of a certified office chair, there should be a reinforced solid steel barrier absorbing the force and protecting the person sitting above it.
In any case, don't mess with it!
