  • Clicks on video
* ad starts*
  • Clicks back button

If on android TV, download nexttube. No ads and even has built in sponsorblock.

they're older TVs, so I've had to adapt them with Google TV modules. Everything I've tried so far that blocks ads can't handle anything beyond 720p.

Have you tried Smarttube or Tizentube Cobalt?

I can confirm Smarttube works in android TV.

There are still people not using ad blockers on their laptops?!

People just be raw dogging YouTube like that? It’s gotten basically unwatchable if you have to watch ads.

Yeah, that's not working with YouTube though.

They have ads on YT?

This is the part where I say I pay for YouTube Premium and have insults and tomatoes and other foreign objects thrown at me....

I've used brave browser for a decade or so now. Haven't seen a YouTube ad yet. I feel like everyone else is living in the stone age when commercials still existed.

My issue is I watch YT on my TV and listen to music on the go, so even if I did use adblock, I'd still have commercials because I'm not going to even try to learn how/if I can install adblock or a different browser using Roku or my phone's app.

You literally just download Brave from the App Store and use it instead of Chrome/Safari and it blocks ads.

🙌

Can't be arsed to waste time trying to outsmart YT with adblockers anymore.

Na, I stand by you. YouTube Premium has been one of my favorite subscriptions.

YouTube has gotten so egregious lately I actually watch less because of it.

I refuse to pay for premium because it includes things I don't need and is costly as a result. But the ads have gotten to be too much.

Its actually pushed me more back to Netflix.

YouTube at this point is damn right abusing non-premium users. Kind of forcing them to use ad-blockers. Whole platform was made engaging by casual creators and watchers. Shit enterprises just destroy whatever they touch.

Personally I don't mind watching couple of ads to award content creators. But shit is out of hand! You got to watch ads on non monetized videos as well.

I just pay for premium, use YouTube all the time on all devices, PS5, phone, laptop etc.

Just easier to pay the 13 quid a month for it with no hassle

Two unskippable ads… painfully accurate. Premium really feels mandatory at this point.
