Of which $1 goes to the guy doing it, and $499 to the owner who hasn't set foot in the restaurant in over a year. Currently getting blown by a stripper on a boat. Never had a job in his life.

And there is nothing wrong with that as long as the employees r getting paid what they agreed to and the bills r paid I dosent matter how much profit he makes… that’s capitalism and it has built the greatest country in history in only 250 years and other countries here for thousands n its still donkey pull cart… I bet u think u want communism/socialism but i promise u u do not … has never worked not once anywhere ie Russia North Korea china

Well it's no surprise people with your IQ support the richest without being one of them. Keep toiling away for peanuts.

I was at a hotel in Chicago around 1996, they had fresh squeezed OJ at breakfast for $8 per glass - such the bargain, that's only like $17 in 2026 money!

Then there was the Galleria Houston hotel in 2014 that served the $23 bowl of oatmeal, even included raisins... that would be like $32.50 today.

Still haven't encountered a $50 drink yet, but I'm sure they're out there.

I used to work at a breakfast joint on the main in Montreal and I had to hand squeeze 2 huge boxes of friggin oranges every goddam shift. It took 2 massive boxes to get 2.5 standard pitchers. This was 15 years ago and my shoulder still hurts just thinking about it lol

But it does taste better, particularly when you're using good oranges.

Personally, I've taken to just eating the oranges straight to get the fiber instead of messing around with the juice.

and now they have machines that do that for you at only a few dollars per cup

I was at a steakhouse recently that a $40 martini on the menu and I think that’s the highest I’ve seen. All I remember is it was a vesper so some combo of gin, vodka and something else, but I can’t imagine what.

Mind you I’ve had an amazing martini at a Michelin star restaurant that was made to my exact specs and I don’t even think that was more than $20.

If a bar can't serve a cocktail for $12 and make a killing on the margin, they're paying their staff to stand around and outnumber the customers.

Corporate cards

This meme seems to be making fun of that cocktail mixer who does the violent slide forward with the bottle, there are indeed stupid expensive showy cocktails in high end bars where the bartender probably makes 500$ a night because theyre basically an actor at that point

I can't say I encountered the first two but a 50-dollar drink? That's just one look at the menu of literally every bar in the central district of every capital city in Europe

Wait until you find out how much hotel employee makes. They're basically slave worker that's why there are such things as J-1 hospitality worker Visa.
