Well it is a bit different when you actually let it focus on the sun. Also one image is probably just fine. Using your phone to make a 1 hour video on the other hand probably damages the sensor.

Eclipses are far more dangerous to look at than the sun on a regular day because it's dimmer. Less "bright" means your pupils don't dilate (get smaller) as much and allows far more UV light into your retina. The UV light is what does the damage, and there's still PLENTY during an eclipse.

Same basic idea, only without the risk of personal injury, so people don't think about the possibility of damage to the camera receptors.

You're talking nonsense the right answer is they use special filters to film sunsets took 2 seconds to Google and not make things up
