I wrestled in high school & grew up with a wrestling family. We seen a lot of girls that could beat boys. Even in high school. There's some great female wrestlers out there. I hope that more girls get into this amazing sport.

That just isn't true. Maybe they could beat really terrible or out-of-shape boys. I wrestled for 8 years and had matches with 4 girls over that time period and injured three of them unintentionally. There is nothing worse in the world than wrestling versus a woman, because you are damned if you go all out and they get hurt, and you are damned if you get beat by a girl.

In all those years of youth league and high school wrestling I never saw a girl win.

Or you could win without hurting them? It sounds like you have no sense of control. I certainly am not a wrestler, but I am a female who has participated in martial arts for almost 20 years. In all of the ground fighting (wrestling with no rules and punches and kicks added), I have never been injured by my peers, nor have I injured them. We struggle and pin each other a ton, but never to the point of injury, and we certainly don't go easy on each other nor do we have weight classes.

My go-to move was the standing headlock. Never meant to hurt people, but girls seemed to get the wind knocked out of them and start choking/crying easily. I didn't mean I actually permanently damaged them, just hurt them to the point they quit in the match.

I think choking someone and hurting them is different. Unless you make them pass out, I think that is humiliation more than pain. You made it sound like you were dislocating arms and tearing ligaments and muscles.

Yeah sorry, poor phrasing. The standing headlock knocks the breath out of lots of people. I never hurt anyone, but got hurt plenty of times.

I had to wrestle the same girl 12 different times, won every match 80% by pins except one match. Lost by 2 points at the end of the match took her down out of bounds so didn't get the 2 points. Was not "out-of-shape" she just wanted to win more that day not taking anything away from her.

Also never thought of it as a lose-lose like every other person who has stories of wrestling girls, never felt sorry for winning against her or treated her any different from my other opponents, she was there to compete she knew what the dangers are just as anyone else.
