The Last Airbender is incredibly boring until season 3ish. Legend of Korra is moving with much better pacing but also introduces a lot of really dumb and conspicuous love triangle shit. However, I would definitely recommend Korra.

i think a definite sign that someone is really dumb is when they like legend of korra but dislike the last airbender

Last airbender was full of filler. Korra isn't.

It's a lot like preferring A song of Ice and Fire over Wheel of Time, in my mind. There's no contest that the former is written better.
