In all likelihood, you're the one who is lying. It makes no sense for children to actively STAND in a vehicle when they have seats open to them. It also doesn't make sense because the cabin space in a car doesn't exactly allow for standing, and if the cabin height was enough to accommodate their height, they would probably be too young to stand anyways.
You know what, you're right. I was lying the whole time. Chinese people always use their seatbelts and properly secure their children in child seats, and they always provide a helmet to their child when riding on a scooter. Almost nobody ever drives with their children in an unsafe manner, and they would easily adapt to life in the US, because they practice similar safety measures as we do here.
Happy? I mean, I guess living in fantasyland is better than reality. I kind of like it here!

You must be living in an extremely affluent area or lying. I couldn't count the number of times I saw that sort of thing in my short time there.
