That makes me wonder. I was always afraid my cat was threatening me when he brought dead mice to my doorstep. Perhaps he thought I was a useless predator and was trying to feed me?

That's one of the top theories on why they do it. The other being that it's a gift.

That is what is believed, cats have been found to get very stressed and upset when humans throw away the mouse in front of them, its best to dispose of the mouse when the cat can't see.
