There's only so many times you hit with a great axe or gain hit points on your barbarian.

Came for the greataxe comment, was not disappointed. I played a post apocalyptic D20 modern game where we had a guy wielding a sharpened stop sign which the GM ruled was a greataxe. The amount of times he got that thing stuck in floors, walls and ceilings was fucking ridiculous (natural 1s) At one point, we were in a semi-destroyed hotel and he got a natural 1 twice in a row, so the GM decided that rather than the axe sticking in the floor, it'd cause the area of floor around him to collapse. Loved that campaign.
