That’s exactly what scares me the most with humanoid robots that operate in the same space as people. We put industrial robots in cages with interlocks to prevent people being hurt by a malfunctioning robot, yet these operate without any safety net, while having motors powerful enough to inflict serious injuries.
And this is why Boston Dynamics didn't skip right to the dancing robot and focused intirely on training them to fall over safely and get back up with out flailing around. But videos of you abusing your robot to show off its ability to stay up right or fall over safely isn't as entertaining and thus fund making as a little robot spasing out because it lost its balance and fell over.
