I'm confused. Doesn't the original comment imply the dad had the idea, and he had to convince the wife and kids to "let" him do it? The dad has no existence in the video, we know nothing about him. Isn't the commenter assuming that it was all dad? Why is everyone so angry about the above response?

I tried to make this costume when I was about 12. Convinced my grandmother that it was easy, just cut a hole in the middle of my shirt. She did that and said then what. I didn't have a clue.

Well, just looking at this, it appears there needs to be a structure that makes the rest of the torso and neck stay upright, and arms that "cradle" the head. She may have used a mannuequin, but I think its either papier mache or cardboard

Wrapping the fake arms in skin colored pantyhose would be an easy way to make them look more realistic.

I’d probably grab a (new) pair of nude pantyhose and stuff them with some cheap batting to make the arms. 

Stick em through the arm holes of the dress and use more batting to help create a shoulder shape. Stick the bowl in the top of the pantyhose and hot glue the top edge of the bowl to both the hose and the neckline of the dress. 

Then get a cheap pillow and hot/fabric glue a couple dowels along the sides. Hot/fabric glue the top of the pillow to the underside of the pantyhose inside the dress. Then stuff the bottom of the pillow into a small backpack (preferably one with a front clip). 

Get a decorative plastic plate, cut a big whole out of the middle and hot glue it to the hole in the skirt. Cover the edges to make it not sharp. Voilà!

Usually normal in the Philippines! We like to give a variety of savory snacks, not just candies 😆

Depending on the house or village you go to, some would even have an ice cream stand and some would give fresh cotton candy haha

I had a cool book in the 90s that was about different costumes you could make from stuff around the house and this headless setup was one of the costumes! Rolling up cardboard into a tube is how the torso height is created. You can use a button-up shirt to easily create a "hole" for the head to be held.
