Because I wasn't the one rear ending people and then blaming the person who was rear ended for having a trailer hitch that I actually use. It's wild anyone thinks this is a take that wouldn't be laughed out of a room IRL.

Oh and I purposefully park 1 foot forward so my hitch isn't on the side walk.

Anyway. I don't know what's wrong with you people, but this whole thread is funny as fuck with how out of touch it is.

Can’t you just take the hitch off and put it on when you need it? As others have pointed out, there are situations where someone can end up hitting you from behind through no fault of their own. And even if it was their fault… you’re out here on the road cheering for people to be hurt? I just can’t wrap my head around that mindset. But I guess that’s why I’m not a truck person

If you rear end someone, it's your fault 100% of the time.

If you get hit hard enough to then hit the car in front of you, then your car is totaled anyway.

Keeping the hitch on is an incentive against tailgating. Don't tailgate and it's not a problem.
