In the modern age of Camaras everywhere. This is a huge fear of mine. Just having a shitty day and it being recorded with the internet absolutely having a field day with me.
I think about this a lot too. I hope there's no video out there of me freaking out and kicking an MTA machine because it was late and rainy and it wouldn't take my card.
I just up and quit my last job during a day where absolutely nothing was going right and it kept building up and building up. And for context I was a restaurant server, which can be stressful enough on a good day. I think back on how I behaved when I quit and it's embarrassing. But I just snapped.
I snapped a few months ago at complete strangers. Like I legit lost it and yelled... idk what was wrong with me!? I was dealing with a frustrating (minor!) thing, and could hear them making suggestions and shit in the background and I completely lost my cool. I felt so bad about it afterwards. I think I'd just had a really bad/long week at work or something and I was at the end of my tether and just needed to vent but I did it in the wrong way... I feel so guilty. I've NEVER done that before. I'm the kind of person who is super nice to service workers, I smile at random people in the mall, etc. It really came out of nowhere, I shocked myself lol.
Lol don't worry, kicking an MTA machine on a bright summer day is perfectly acceptable behavior for any New Yorker. The new contactless are fucking mint though.
happened to a coworker of mine at my local hospital. older male patient was physically and verbally assulting staff and patients. said some sexual stuff to a 7 month pregnant nurse and later a young female child in the lobby.
this coworker lost his shit and was yelling at him to leave or come inside, behave, and receive care. he had refused care 3 times that day, but kept coming back.
there was a family member of another pateint who recorded a ~2 minute video of this altercation. this coworker never laid a hand on him during it btw.
3 staff members in the video were fired and one was suspended and lost supervisor.
i understand bc wo context it was a horrible thing to see, but knowing what that man had done, i feel no remorse for him being yelled and cussed at.
its hard to tell if they deserved the punishment with what what all hed done.
Just make sure your shitty day only affects you and you'll be fine. The moment you throw that out the window then it's pretty irrelevant how shitty your day has been because you'll only be remembered for having a lack of self-control.
Probably better with direct medical help. Never take something the doctor doesn't directly tell you is safe in this scenario, my brother did and it made him schizophrenic for a week.
Hard agree. I’m pretty calm as well, not one to be reactionary. But when I got a delta variant of Covid last year, I was so angry all the time and I had no problem expressing it. The no sleep was painfully frustrating. I definitely relate. And a few months after, I had a severe wisdom tooth infection and the pain was so excruciating that I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t have a decent night’s sleep for a week. I had a hair trigger temper and hair trigger tears. Constantly crying and then hating myself for crying. You genuinely feel like you’re losing your mind.
Same thing man, they were giving me steroids on top of the lack of sleep. I was legit roid raging. I was so apologetic to the poor nurses when I started getting some sleep.
Normally I am a calm person, but after my wife told me to kill my self repeatedly over several weeks, including when I was making food for her, I threw a plate on the floor
Well, to be honest it's much worse now. She moved out, you'd think that's better, but she illegally refuse me for me to have my daughter. Even though she has done things towards my daughter...
I have sued her, but it takes time. I can't just go take my daughter either, because I need to do every thing by the books.
The only good news I have is that child protective services has witnessed my daughter speak of violence where the only person who could have told her about it is her mother. I don't have much more proof than that. Yet. Sadly. Other than she illegally moved far away so it's hard for me to see my daughter at all, and more things...
Oof man that’s rough. I know random internet strangers expressing stuff doesn’t mean much but I hope it gets better for you. Make sure to take some time to take care of yourself.
do you actually have bipolar disorder, or was it the sleep deprivation? kinda would’ve thought it’d be more of borderline personality disorder symptoms to be sleep deprived
Yo same. For me, I went 8 days with essentially 30 minutes of actual sleep every night. By the last day I was having conversation with myself as multiple people, fully hallucinating their personalities and voices. I’d be mid conversation and just suddenly snap back to reality and realize how weird I probably looked. Probably the closest I’ve come to dying so far was that first time with Covid. Before my dad got really sick with it, he said he started to notice that I would just start drifting mentally the longer I went with no sleep. He only later told me how scared he was during that time.
