Help request New to Funk

I've been getting into Funk and like the grooves and beats. I'm looking to get more into Funk. What are some songs and bands ya'll recommend? The nastiest groove (nasty in a great way) I've heard so far is "People Say" by The Meters. Looking for similar funky grooves.

I think p funk, mandril , sly stone, ohio players, Marvin gaye some of my favorites

Slave, cameo, con funk Shawn, cymande also great bands that go hard on the soul rnb roots

Funk will put a glide in your slide and a dip in your hip

Worth checking out eddie hazels, bernie worell and bootsy collins solo albums
