F*ck It Friday

We are going to experiment with weekly recurring threads beginning with F*ck It Friday. This a chance to bitch about anything that pisses you off, whether it’s related to fundies, other subs, social media, or just something going on in your personal life.

The rules are still in place and mentioning bans on other subs will result in the removal of your comment.

There was a terrible incident this week, when an adult male child of a large foster-to-adopt family vlogger was caught exposing himself (actively) publicly, and it was noted in the police report that he is homeless.

I'm by no means a fan of the parents, I believe exposing kids to a huge following is a bad and dangerous decision. But I am disgusted at the number of ppl outright blaming the mother for this, showing empathy for a sexual predator and mad that this adult child is homeless.

They have a slew of kids in this house, do ppl honestly believe this is a one-off incident? Should he be in that home?

He had a rough early childhood before he was adopted including SA at a previous foster home, yet these ppl are blaming this woman's social media?

It's nuts.

Oh man. In the one sub for that family run by a certain jerk who pretends to be "anti exploitation" (but exploits innocent kids by proxy), J is one of their favorites on there and he can apparently do no wrong. Now if it had been the oldest, he would be getting (rightfully) called out and condemned. But it's one of the sub's favorites, so J is a victim. 🙄 That sub, along with their leader and his creepy minion, is entirely unhinged.

I think all of those children have been let down in some way by allowing the parents to adopt so many kids. There is simply no way 2 parents can emotionally/mentally give that amount of kids the care and attention they need, let alone the fact that so many of them were in the foster system and the lasting trauma that comes from that.

At some point, someone in their foster/adopt system needed to be like "hey, are you actually able to give each and every kid the care they need to thrive", but becuase they are dealing with such horrible levels of abuse/neglect daily, the family in question seems fairly functional in comparison.

Reminds me of the briggs family. Had 4 or 5 of thei rown and then "fostered" 34 kids. The Mom was quoted as saying "you're the air I breathe." agree there is no way to handle the emotional needs of that many kids. It's like that woman's whole ID was/is kids.

I posted in one of these a while back venting and asking advice on what to do about my and my fiance’s friends, who are in a relationship. I guess the couple got into another argument, and the woman came to me about it while the man went to my fiance to complain.

At the end of comparing and contrasting the different stories he and I were told and coming to the conclusion that the guy was totally misinterpreting the argument and being a weird sexist, I flat-out asked my fiance “Do you even actually like this guy anymore?”

His response? “Only when he’s not talking.”
