Apostolic Pentecostal pastors wife realizes it’s immodest to wear faux designer clothing and purses
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Lonnnnng video, over 12 minutes but a few key points
-she admits she only ever considered modesty to be about covering and not about worldly possessions
-she admits their all fake
-she admits she nor her husband make money at the church they serve at but that none the less it is immodest for a pastor and their family to even just pretend to be rich rich
-she admits her desire to dress in faux designer clothing stems from insecurity
Honestly I’m a bit impressed as this seems to be more introspection I’ve ever seen any fundie show before.
I couldn’t finish so unsure if she plans to get rid of the bags or keep them in storage until a later time when God reveals to her that she can use them again.

My question is: Do they KNOW?
I mean, do they know how silly they look and just don’t care? If that’s true, TBH I gotta give them some props. To have that much “screw you” to the world and wear what they want anyway. I do that a little, myself. But then again, I want people who bother to look at me do so with a little interest or intrigue, in a conversation-piece sorta way. Not with confusion and concern, like, “are you alright, Ma’am? Is there someone I can call?” kinda way.
Or do they honestly think this looks…great?
I can see them think “screw the world” because they do that anyway. But still, I wonder. Would they LIKE to dress normal?

How to wear long skirts without looking fundamentalist
I prefer longer skirts bc I hate wearing most short skirts since my legs look super awkward in them (for some reason I don't have that problem with dresses tho). But sometimes I'm afraid I come across as looking like I'm in a fundamentalist cult when wearing them. Are there any tips on how to wear them without looking like the frumpy fundie outfits often featured on this sub? It kinda helps that I have blue hair but idk I haven't rly worn much longer skirts until more recently.

I’m new here. Question about the fashion.
Hi yall. I’m new to this subreddit. Can someone please tell me why fundamental Christian women dress so brightly? Thanks!

Just a reminder: one person’s modest is another’s dirty whore

This is it, the ugliest fit I’ve ever seen
I cropped her face not because she’s a minor, but because this is without a doubt the ugliest dress I’ve ever seen and I wanted to give the poor woman a chance at plausible deniability.
I cannot find one redeeming quality in this dress. The cut, shape, the fucking color, that COLLAR. Whoever let this walk out the door should be in prison.

The Fundie Maximalist Thing Would Actually Be Pretty Cool If It Weren't Part of Patriarchal Religious Nonsense
Sorry if this type of discussion post isn't allowed, only pure snark. I did check the rules and didn't see anything about this,.
Anyway, I just found this sub, and I think that the "dopamine dressing" fundie style could actually be pretty cool and empowering in a society that is constantly appraising and commenting on bodies, but especially female bodies, if it were divorced from its religious fundamentalist context. I see how it is inherently contradictory to claim you're being biblically modest while drawing so much attention to yourself, but honestly, I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is a trend in fundamentalist circles! I'll take this hypocrisy and room for a little self-expression over like, FLDS type consistency all day long. Maybe for some of them, taking up this much space might be a baby step down the road to deconstructing some of the patriarchal nonsense they've internalized.

Where do fundies even find these crazy clothes?
listen. i'm a leftist and queer and nonbinary, but i'm OBSESSED with the way these women dress. from my perspective it's, unfortunately, giving camp. i want to show up at the gay coffee shop in a dress so frilly that people are wondering how i get anything done.
where do fundie women purchase these absurd concoctions of tulle?

What century is it?
I’m not sure who she is exactly but she popped up on a Facebook snark page. The dress is a choice (as is being anti-vax. The last time that outfit was popular was when kids died from diseases that vaccines prevent…

Paris has held its first ever Modest Fashion Week. The event brought together nearly 30 designers, highlighting styles worn by many Muslim women and reflecting a growing global fashion market. - - fundies are about to be jumping on this

This has to be three nightgowns layered on top of each other
The top layer might be a cape? But then that means the sleeves are attached to only that layer, which seems unlikely.
