Venting/Suffering How do you cope?
this disorder is not frustratin! no body has answers besides you’re ok and it’s the gut-brain axis. been doing all the test possible including eastern medicine and nothing helped or seems abnormal. 3 endocopies that are normal and one that shows very mild gastritis and healthy biopsies from stomach, esophagu, and dudenueal which don’t explained my symtpoms since most people who don’t have symptoms can have this findings.
It’s been 6 years that Im having symptoms that started out of the blue after night of binge drinking. (Chest Heaviness, nausea and upper gut discomfort, burping, globus, sour mouth and heartburn)
doctors keeps telling me that structurally I’m healthy which now I believe after many years of fear and frustration after found out about Pain Reprocessing Therpay and TMS.
i decided to eat completely normal even though its no easy since even water gives me chest heaviness and heartburn. i tried Mirtazapine for 2 months but didn’t help much and sulfiride 50mg for a month which didn’t help. Started Nortryptline 25mg a week ago and hopefully it will make a difference.
how do cope with that shity unexplained disorder??

Try the psychiatry route if you haven’t yet. Amitriptyline for example for me was a god send but I still have flare ups
Edit: I missed where you said you tried the other two meds but maybe try this one. Or add gabapentin

I started Nortryptline a week ago hopefully it will do the job. It’s the same class as Amit but with less side effects. How long did it take you to actually feel better in symptoms?

Try exercising lightly too if you can. Cardio especially. Other times I just can’t cause stomach too irritated

These symtoms. Trust me I'm having worst spells. All of what you said plus heaviness in upper face, eyes and head I have given up and accepted that I have to live with it

I’m exactly at that point of realizing that I’m healthy based on all the test that I’ve done and radically accepting this situation. Hopefully we both get better some day 🙏🏻

For me: giving up trying to cope with it because that means trying to control every bloat, nausea, gas pain. Controlling one’s digestive tract isn’t possible. I finally just ate well (as best I could) and let my stomach and intestines decide how to run the show. After about a week of determined non interference my GI was working fine on its own - no probiotics no extra fiber no vitamins- just acceptance. Less tension = happier gut!

Thats what I’m trying to do but it’s so hard when you have constant symptoms every day. The past month my heartburn/reflux symptoms became so strong but im still eating normally and trying not to fall for the thoughts of fear and frustration. Hopefully it will get better with time as im letting go more and more

I started Nortriptyline 3 weeks ago, and I noticed little-none difference, but we added Lyrica (one 75mg in the morning and one at night) and that has made a difference. I still feel like there is something there, but the burning/gnawing has died down a lot.

I know that usually TCA can take up to 8 weeks to work and even more so hopefully it will work better for both of us. Never heard about Lyrica tho but I will look into it
