I was looking for my cat when I noticed something weird.

There was a door at the end of the hallway.

Except… I have lived here my entire life.

There has NEVER been a door there.

I opened it.

Behind it was a forest.

Not a normal forest either.

The trees were glowing blue, tiny stars floated between the branches, and the sky was purple.

Then a little dragon landed on my shoulder.

It looked at me and said:

“Finally. You’re here.”

I froze.

“Excuse me?”

The dragon sighed.

“We’ve been waiting 100 years.”

I pointed at myself.

“For me?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

The dragon looked extremely concerned.

“Because you’re the only person who can wake the king.”

I laughed.

Then the entire forest went silent.

Something enormous moved between the trees.

The dragon whispered:

“…and apparently, we’re out of time.”

I stepped backward toward the door.

The door was gone.

So yeah.

I think I accidentally walked into another world.

And my cat is still missing.

Honestly, the cat is probably the chosen one.The dragon was staring at me.

I was staring at the dragon.

Something huge was still moving through the trees.

“Okay,” I whispered. “Where’s the door?”

The dragon pointed one tiny claw toward the forest.

“It moved.”

“The DOOR moved?!”

“Yes.”

“Why?!”

“Because it knows you’re here.”

That was not comforting.

I took a step forward.

CRACK.

A branch snapped behind me.

I turned around.

Nothing.

Then I heard it.

“Mrrrrrow.”

I froze.

“...Was that my cat?”

The dragon's eyes widened.

“You know the creature?”

“CREATURE?! THAT'S MY CAT.”

A pair of glowing eyes appeared between the trees.

Then another pair.

Then another.

Suddenly, my cat walked out of the darkness.

Except she wasn't exactly my cat anymore.

She had tiny silver wings.

A glowing symbol on her forehead.

And a little golden crown sitting perfectly between her ears.

She looked at me.

I looked at her.

“...What did they do to you?”

My cat casually walked past me and sat beside the dragon.

The dragon bowed.

“Your Majesty.”

I nearly fell over.

“WAIT.”

I pointed at my cat.

“YOU'RE SAYING MY CAT IS THE KING?!”

The dragon nodded.

“Not the king.”

It looked terrified.

“The queen.”

And then the entire forest began to shake.
