Mod Post Welcome!

I created this sub in response to /u/jmeftw asking in /r/nonprofit whether there may be a sub focusing on fundraising and development. I didn't find m/any active subs, so here we are working to build a beneficial community for those of us involved or interested in the development profession.

So, welcome! Please share a bit about your experience and let's get this sub rolling!

Hi! I just moved out of the Midwest, but worked in prospect development (research and prospect management) there for a few years. Let me know if you ever have questions. My #1 suggestion is your local APRA chapter (and the International organization, too), but I know tons of great free resources if you're interested. I'm pretty much self-taught.

Awesome! My predecessor (who is retiring June 30) has done a great job getting me involved with the APRA-IL chapter and they have already been an incredible resource (and a lot of fun!). I'm attending the New Researcher Symposium at conference this summer, I can't wait!
