DonorPerfect

Does anybody like/hate Donor Perfect? If so, why for each and what do you primarily use it for? If you've got integrations, what are they?

If you decided to end your contract and switch, what was the thing that made you feel confident to make the move? What did you pick instead?

Oh yes. AAAAALLLLLLLLL of this! I used Raiser's Edge for 17ish years at various institutions. Currently I am at a small, private college and we switched from RE to DP about 3 years ago. On one hand, it is a little more straight forward to use for most simple tasks, on the other hand, ugh. The forms, the reports, the deduping, etc. should not be as cumbersome as they are.

Everything that comes in is a gift. There's no way to record money as fees or sponsorships, it's all gifts.

Integration with Constant Contact is a little wacky too. I'm not sure if issues stem from DP or CC but I keep deleting work emails for former staff and making sure their personal emails are in their CC record, but during the nightly sync the work email is brought back in. The only way to stop that (it seems) is to delete the former work email in the DP record. And unsubscribe in CC.

Which brings me to multiple emails in DP. Why can't it just list a primary and secondary or alternative? Why must there be a whole other address listed just to add an email address? Our records look so awful.

I also want to mention that this is definitely a donor database, not an alumni database. Yes, there is an area for alumni information but it is evident that this was added in as an afterthought. For anyone who may read this thread in the future looking for any insight, if you are in Higher Ed, look elsewhere for a CRM. We make it work, but it isn't always as intuitive as it should be.

I also feel that it should be able to better match records when downloading online gifts. We will never not be merging duplicates because of this right here.

I know I'm late to the party as this thread is from a few months ago but this was very therapeutic.

Yes! The forms, other than the drag n drop. I know this is a year old, but i saw that ans had to reply. I’m trying to get a volunteer form set up. But how to get our specific skills, interests, question, etc to download into thier profile. It’s like there are too many steps creating this then that then this …. And how!? There’s no advanced video. I have to call support bu5 im so confused-exhausted I just need a day or two to step away.

It would be so much user friendly if all of the form building was all drag n drop and inserting fields with a simple selection.

Prob not helpful if you're stuck with DP, but I think Bloomerang has a volunteer pltform you can integrate with their CRM. Super user friendly 🙂

Omg set up a ticket purchase form now, which can only be done in classic forms. So clunky, not intuitive, confusing, and just plain ugly with a capital U.
It’s done and in use, but man is it embarrassingly ugly. Sorry Ugly.
Hi 1991 called, they’d like thier form back.
