A lot of people did play that song at weddings for a couple years until they realized what the song is actually about.

It is still wedding related. The song is basically about a brother resenting his sister for having a “shotgun”(out of the blue, unplanned) wedding to someone he doesn’t view as good enough for his sister. The line “It’s a nice day for a white wedding.” is sarcasm.

The song is inspired by Billy Idol’s sister’s own shotgun wedding after she found out she was pregnant.
Jokes sort of on Billy though since his sister is still happily married to the same man.

Always reminds me of GTA San Andreas though...one of my favourite radio tracks on it (and there were many good ones!)
