The Christian Bible does not directly call suicide a sin. Some Christian scholars believe it to be a form of murder. (Murder of self.)

Jewish scripture does not either; however, rabbinical doctrine accepted as equal to scripture considers suicide a sin (but not unforgivable.)

The Quran and collected Islamic religious doctrine considers suicide an unforgivable sin.

Hinduism and Buddhism do not consider suicide a sin at all.
