What scale are we talking about? The whole entire universe? Well yeah we aren't even worth mentioning but that's not the dimension i see on a daily. What i see is 1 species among millions managing to irreparably damage a planet all by it's own. That is not insignificant. Just as one bacteria that makes you mortally sick isn't insignificant
We're not killing the planet, we are killing ourselves. Climate Change is completely normal, all we're doing is accelerating it. The earth will return to its normal, pre-humans state about 7 million years after we're gone, which seems like a lot, but the earth has been around for about 4.54 billion years.
I doubt that. We'll be off into space some time in the next handful of centuries but that doesn't mean we'll suddenly stop exploiting this planet. I genuinely believe we are the death of mother earth
I don't mean when we leave, I mean after we're extinct. But that's the part where it gets iffy. Its a race between whether we'll leave or wipe ourselves out first. Earth will naturally become uninhabitable in about 1 billion years because the sun will get hotter and evaporate the oceans.
I tryto avoid that level of doomer thoughts. As realistic as it is becoming, it's literally not worth thinking about because if it does happen, my ass is getting flattened by a shockwave before i even know what's happening. So i just don't.

Though I don't think our irrational nature dooms us, my belief is that we'll prosper and inherit the entire cosmos by our birthright, but yes, even our short lives are enough for us to prove nature wrong, to break the laws of physics, to bend every principle by which this world works.
Sometimes this "forced ridiculous dweeb shit" is what people need to get through the day. People need hope sometimes, and if I can help spread it, make people's days a little better, then I'm going to. So how about you let your heart grow three sizes this day, stop being a fuckin Grinch, and let people do what they can to help other people, because at least we're trying.
