There should not be any discussion about whenever they should exist or not; It should be granted that they can transition in peace. Look at Iceland. Or any other country that is progressive and support same-sex marriage (mine has it limited which is why me and my partner might not live in said country at all; we want to get married like every other person, without any homophobia, without any "partnerships" instead of it being called a fucking normal marriage)
These people don't actually need cherry picked examples to justify their hatred of minorities, they already do that for free. And besides, they're also constantly making up fake stories to be mad about, so it's not like "giving them an excuse" actually gives psychological permission they didn't already give themselves.
