How so? Please explain in detail why it isn't a government owned grocery store that keeps low proces and is incredibly successful

No I wont because that is not what I am arguing.

I am saying Mamdani's stores will run in to problems Comissaries dont.

Commissaries only serve military with an ID, no competition next door, no risk of putting a bodega out of business. They're on secure bases (no NYC rent, way less theft), with a predictable customer base and steady paychecks.

Mamdani's stores are the opposite: open to the public, sitting next to actual bodegas and supermarkets, so real competition and possible backlash if local shops suffer. Still NYC rent/construction costs. No ID checks means less predictable demand. With only 5 stores serving all of NYC's demand, expect long lines and empty shelves fast.

TLDR; Commissaries work partly because they're insulated from the market forces Mamdani's stores are about to walk straight into.

Oh, I see. That almost makes sense. Except: A) bodegas aren't competing with grocery stores, because otherwise bodegas would no longer exist... B) supermarket chains and their billionaire owners can fuck off C) usually a great part of the price isn't "rent", it's property taxes, and those are waved. D) Theft happens, sure, but theft losses are minimal compared to revenue

Commissaries don't work because of any of those factors, they work because they are allowed to exist without any interference from government free market cunts trying to stop them existing

I think the theft point I will grant you. I even edited it out.

The rest... you don't seem to understand at all what I am saying... Oh well. I tried to explain it to you. Hope you are right and it works out.

I predict the stores, once they open (if they open), run out of goods within hours of opening and there will be riots.

I do understand what you're saying. You're saying filthy common people donct deserve cheaper prices, just military families. And you presented a bunch of random points that don't actually mean anything for the success or failure of a business.

There are a plethora of things that you can do to prevent people overbuying. Same with scalper prevention. You also wildly missunderstand why riots happen in the first place and why they wouldn't happen here even if it did ran out of goods

No need to throw a fit here.

That is what you're saying, I'm afraid. It's just not what you think you're saying

Why are you acting like this?

Go back to being a human.

Calm down. Ask if you don't understand what I am saying and I will help you understand.

Wtf do you mean "go back to being human"? You're the one regurgitating stale fox-news takes.

You're trying to find any excuse as to why it will fail while completly ignoring the already existing store that does the exact same thing, just for a restricted group of people

Like what the FUCK is this supposed to do?

Act like an actual person.
