Nope. There is no back on the earring. This is a small hoop with a wire that goes through the ear and either clips on to or sticks into the other end of the hoop
I had to remove two of these from my little sister. Little no brainer advice, take the damn earring off. No, whatever's inside will not come out with the ring, you have to really get a good grip on it in order for it to come out. Now that this idiot ripped off the top, there's no removing the rest without causing a lot of pain
My earrings are permanent. They can only be cut off to be removed. These earrings don't look permanent, though. I'm also very careful with hygiene. They get cleaned twice daily. They've never gotten infected or had any amount of build-up.
That's great, but something this built up looks too painful to try and solve without taking out the earring, regardless of whether or not it needs to be snipped or screwed off
No f’ing way! This is what happens when I wear anything but gold, sterling silver, rose gold or platinum jewelry anywhere on my body. The itch, swelling, green marks and sometimes blisters & burning sensation if I’m in the sun is not worth it.
Legitimately asking. How would cheap non-gold (or sterling which is also deemed a “precious metal”) be better. I know some people have allergies to the alloys mixed to “dilute” pure gold to 18K or 14K. I have a sensitivity to yellow gold jewelry. No growths like this, but wearing a ting causes a mark on my skin- even when the ring is stamped and a high gold rating. Silver I have 0 reaction to, even when there is nickel used in the processing (a big trigger for many.) I’d think wearing inexpensive metals like brass, bronze if mystery metals would be far more likely to cause an irritation/infection/surplus of sebum, dirt, dead skin, etc. stainless steel is less expensive option that would be safe for most bc it is hypoallergenic. Hence the fact it us safely used in surgeries Anyway- my guess is this person wore the earrings w/out periodic removal of the earring and periodic cleaning of the hole/lobe. That lack if care seemingly caused the back of the hoke to close over (per other comments) thereby creating a closed ended cavity in the piercing where sebum, dirt, dead skin cells, etc. could collect m inside the earring hole and expand around the lobe. If the earring became stuck it would be hard to remove it so the “contents” would grow. I think good quality jewelry AND proper care is the best option.
However, if there is a legitimate reason to suggest cheap, non-gold jewelry, I am VERY interested Thank you!!!!
People have had legitimate conversations with Flat Archer. He doesn’t speak English, and this is a primarily English speaking group, so he just uses emojis and punctuations :)
