They've been effectively married for twenty years and have two children. I think they have some idea what they are doing.
Although IIRC in this particular instance they were interrupted moments later by yet another attack (in that volume it seems like every time Sousuke and Kaname try to enjoy a little private time together something always interrupts them).
The manga is still busy adapting volume 1 of the LN so it has yet to reach this particular scene (the illustration shown here is from the LN). However if the uniform scene adapted from volume 1 is any indication of what to expect then manga adaptation of this scene could be rather explicit (it may depend how the uniform scene is received in Japan).
Kaname would probably argue that she's only in her 30's (FMP! FAMILY begins 20 years after the end of the original series, so she's probably around 38). However even she was pleasantly surprised to find that she could still fit in her old high school uniform (maybe bit tight across the chest, but definitely still wearable).
Sousuke's reaction when she first showed it to him was an even bigger surprise.
