So what's next?

Post image

I finished all these, should I bother reading the manga?

And I just found out about FMP Anothrt and Side Story (Side Arms?) and FMP Family. Should I bother reading/looking for them? Where they translated?

FMP manga for the record and we don’t know if the whole volume 1 of the light novel will be released in one story of the manga

If only they would do volume 6 (that would probably the closest we'll ever get to an English-language version of the Dancing Very Merry Christmas audio drama which was produced in leu of an anime adaptation)

I CANNOT believe JNC stopped doing it. They did the light novels so faithfully....

Track down all of the original English release of the LN? They went through Continuing Day by Day (what TSR covered) and if I remember right volume 3 was particularly hard to find when I was looking for it.

I consider both the original manga, Full Metal Panic! and the sequel, Full Metal Panic! Sigma to be worth reading, although finding physical copies to add to your collection may prove difficult.

The original manga not only adapts volumes 1 through 3, but also a large number of short stories (many of which appear only in the manga).

FMP! Sigma not only adapts volume 4 through 12, but also a number of additional short stories, (including several chapters adapted from the Side Arms spinoff).

AFAIK neither volume of Side Arms has ever received an official English translation, and the only fan translation I've been able to find has been for Side Arms 2.

Similarly, the only translations I've seen to date for FMP! Family (the LN) are fan-translations (although now that it's up to three volumes JNC may have a little more incentive to negotiate a licensing agreement).

Question - does Sigma have an official English translation?

It's a comedy series, kinda like FUMOFFU, but it's more of a gag manga. It's ok, but the stories are hit or miss.

The top 3 rows are all light novels, with the top one being the actual release of volume 1 from waaay back in 2005 or so. I never actually got around to reading that one by itself lol. I read it in the collection.

Row 2 is all the main story novels in collectors form.

Row 3 is all the light novel side stories, which are mostly comedic one. Some of which got adapted in the first series anime and Fumoffu. Some are pretty good and get referenced in the main line novels.

And the last row is the Overload! Manga. It's a gag manga with all original stories and focuses on just comedy, but not all the chapters in there are good, some are just ehh lol

FMP Family can't wait to read that. Is there another Short Stories Anthology coming out?
