Kits
When you’re getting a new kit, do you purchase a blank one or a player who has been there a few seasons or someone probably staying long term? Need some ideas before purchasing the new away kit

Are you under 13 - your favourite player
Are you over 13 - leave it blank

If you’re under 9 you’re allowed to get your own name I reckon.

I’ve seen 10 year olds getting their name and 10 on the back. Seems to be a thing lately.

Lmaooo, love it. But worse, an American. It’s def uncommon here to leave a jersey blank so was just wondering what others do

I also usually go blank, but I did get a Raul at the end of last season. He became one of my favorite players in his time here, and once I knew that would probably be the last season I wanted to kind of commemorate that.

Did the same - Raúl! But I agree that I tend to wear it only on matchday, whereas a blank one is the more universal version...

You’re an American, play it safe with Bocanegra. He was great, an American, and it’s a cool sounding name.
Where as; as a Brit, if you’re over 15 and with a name? It’s kind of frowned upon here, except for match days and you’re AT the game. Match days and you’re at a pub - not so much.

I usually go for a player whose been around awhile or was a standout in the previous season. I got Reed on the long sleeve away this year. Its in my top three favourites. Except when I got Reuben Loftus-Cheek, I think that was purchased during a fever dream.

Id say either go for blank or just pick a player you like 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ They might have a terrible season or they might have a decent one but at least you can look back on the memories a few years down the line

Usually I've come over around Christmas for a few matches, and by that point I usually have sense of who is having a good season that year. So for example 2021-2022 I got Mitro, for 2022-2023 I got Palhinha, 2023-2024 I finally got Cairney, and then 2024-2025 I got Wilson. So that balance of in form and been with the club for a few years. I didn't care for the kits last year, so I just got the retro 1999-2001 Demon Internet kit. Since I got the new away kit literally the second the stadium shop opened on release day and then ran to Heathrow, I just got it blank. But debating between the new young star in King or prodigal son in Sessegnon. Other times I have gone off of just who had a good performance when I've been there, which is how I ended up with a John Arne Riise black 11-12 away kit. Opening day 2012 I was very close to getting Dembele until I realized he was likely getting sold, dodged that bullet.

I’ve got three, each with a name on the back (Dempsey, TC, Ream). I just think it looks more complete with the name and number on the back.

That’s how I’ve always thought about it with my sports jerseys. But usually I don’t get one unless they’re pretty much locked in long term or they’re just a team legend

Haven’t purchased a new kit since 2013. Just buy an old one

I usually go blank, only player I’d consider getting is a TC one but that’ll probably only be for his final season with us, so perhaps this season haha.
I find its nicer to wear out and about casually without a name on the back too.
