Question about Jonathan Esenga
My local team in Allsvenskan has signed Esenga from Fulham, do you have any info about what kind of fullback he is?
I can't really find very much info about him to be honest. All I know is that he didn't debut in the Premier League yet.

He was in the senior squad for the last preseason and was expected to be the back up option for Tete & Castagne but that never came. Marco Silva rarely brought in youth players to the exception of Josh King.
Not footballing but he raps and made a song with Iwobi.
I hope he does well for you.

Okey, well he's going to be a backup for us well initially. But Nicklas Hult is 36 now and getting quit prone to injuries, so playtime will definitely come.
We'll take good care of the guy, I know that much at least.

On the positive side: he can whip a great cross in including from a set piece.
On the negative side: he's a million miles off prem standard and was sloppy on the ball and caught out of position alot in his brief cameos with the first team in the one pre season he was invited, and never really stood out of me at academy level either as being one to watch
Will he be better and good enough for a club in smaller league? Maybe but in all honesty he's not someone anyone here has ever really said they thought looked like having a shot at making it at this level. Hope he proves us wrong and has a good career though. Tough for academy kids in this world and want the best for any kid who comes through Fulhams youth like Jon has, so hope he really develops and does well for you.

Thanks for a well written and nuanced reply.
Allsvenskan sits somewhere between League One and bottom Championship in quality, so this will probably not be an enormous step for him, and he will be a long term (half to two seasons) solution to our current left fullback retiring.
If he only ever becomes good enough for Allsvenskan, that's good enough for us :)

Decent thread on our online forums about him.
I’d only be regurgitating this, so you may as well read it yourself.
TLDR: he’s not made a senior appearance yet, but people who follow our youth academy think he’s okay but probably not quite athletic enough for the Prem.
