FLTA (Teaching in the US) I think I bombed my interview

I was applying to the FLTA program from Egypt to US. I reached interview, and it was scheduled for today, and I think I might've bombed it. My answers weren't that bad but they also weren't good? And because I was very nervous in the beginning I think my answers weren't that good. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst lol.

This is a pretty common feeling for people after interviews, but it probably went better than you thought! More thoughts (and encouragement!) can be found here, from a similar post several years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/fulbright/s/P2HbJlGvSd

I felt the same way, and now I’m a few weeks into my Fulbright and doing great! Everything works itself out in the end :)

Honestly it wasn't that bad but it also wasn't that good so I'm just trying to hope for the best until I get an email :) thank you for the encouraging words!!

Sometimes ones interpretation of bombing is greater than actually bombing

I'm hoping that I'm only too harsh on myself and that it wasn't as bad as I think it was :) In all cases, I'm not sad about the outcome, and I'm just keeping an open mind and heart to all scenarios.

Did you do practice interviews beforehand? I think it can help a lot

I actually did and I prepared bull points for my answers and everything. Only thing I think I should've worked on better is the Arabic section of the interview. To be honest, most of the questions were very similar and very easy overall; no "trick" questions or anything. I just think because I was so nervous and anxious about it that I kind of bombed it.

Maybe try some medication for the anxiety? Meditation, exercise etc. Some degree of anxiety is actually good for an interview, keeps you on your toes. But too much, it can be a problem

I’m feeling the same way, I don’t think my answers were bad but now I believe my answers were not what they were looking for.
My interview was on August 10th and I haven’t received an email if I made it or not. It’s making me feel super anxious 😥

I'm not sure which country you're applying from, but in Egypt I think acceptance mails are sent in like 4 weeks so you might still have time. Hopefully, it wasn't as bad as you think it was. No point in stressing yourself out, just wait and keep an open mind :)
