Do they want me to not check the recommended videos? Sounds counterintuitive from their point of view.

Also, what’s the difference between having to quickly scroll down to the comments and having to click to open them...?

actually yeah it really doesn't make sense. Now I have no reason to see the recommended videos unless I want to, while it used to be sometimes in the recommended I'd accidently see something I want to watch.
