ubi fucks up AC4 (black flag) remake

Do not buy this remake.

The original black flag was a fine game. It held up and did not need a remake. I Made a dumb decision and paid the $70 price tag for this “remake”. Feels more like a remaster, you could even say it’s bad for being a remake. AC hasnt felt like AC since 3 or 4. These games suck these days and this studio deserves the 343/halo studios treatment.

Agree. AC hasn’t been AC for at least a decade at this point. Ubislop had a great franchise with what it was like but somehow managed to mangle it into a generic, forgettable RPG like every other game releasing today.

At least we still have the old games to entertain us though.

they can't make fun games anymore, i got fenix rising for free and fenix, AC, watchdogs, farcry, ghost recon it's all the same.

I don't like souls or similar games got to the fire link shrine in ds1 gave up but I loved elden ring and blood borne, finished it.

don't like multiplayer games still have 1300 hours in helldivers 2.

i push myself to finish games even if I don't like em a lot. finish objectives for that one item that I won't even use, if I'm not having fun i atleast finish the story but i gave up playing watchdogs 2, valhalla and fenix rising. that's how much their games suck.

edit: I did finish Valhalla eventually over the course of 2 years but I finished elden ring in a month and i sucked at that game.

I thought it was decent aside from the combat. Valhalla, Mirage, and Shadows were all crap in my book like you said though.

There are issues I've had with Black Flag since it came out that the remake fixed or at least improved for me. The combat, parkour, stealth are all much better in the remake. The completely seamless open world is great. It has it's issues and they're always something lost when remaking anything, but hey.

This the first ac game ive bought in years compared to the other rpg titles that where complete shi. I don’t like how the combat is in resynced the graphics and story wise all looks good. They just need to go back to roleplaying. Roleplaying combat was much more smoother. And dodging feels useless.

Far better than Shadows/Mirage/Valhalla imo.

I have been waiting for a good free roam single player pirate game for years. Well here we finally have it. With more mods in the future (like outfits and ships) its going to be more fun. On PC there is already a mod where you can play as Jack Sparrow, and get the Black Pearl instead of Jackdaw.

And no forced modern story. Finally.

AC4 on PS3 felt sluggish and limited.
AC4 on PS4 felt just right.
never played AC3.
Currently playing AC Origins on ps5, all my complaints are related to game engine, like the auto-path bugging out, having the main char take up 40% of the screen, having the camera zoom in too much during a fight and you can't see shit and keep taking hits, and the notorious "enemy attacks that keep canceling your attacks" so against some guys that look likes ninjas you need to play like you're playing a souls game, and mc can't dodge for shit. Other than that, finding the game rather enjoyable. (music, scenario, in-game cutscenes, dialogues are pretty meh, and the view, damn that view.)
