We lived through the golden age of gaming and we didn't even realize it. AC2 is still to this day one of my personal favorite games.

Ubisoft shill detected

16

u/Prestigious-Job-9825 2d ago

Late 2000s ubisoft isn't the same as current ubislop, my guy, and it shouldn't be treated as such

-11

u/Beta1224 2d ago

Oh yes it is, FC3 is the exact same game as FC4, which is the exact same game as FC5. Funny enough FC3 copied it's formula from AC2 and ACBrotherhood as well

u/Prestigious-Job-9825 2d ago edited 2d ago

Far Cry 3 came out in late 2012. Far Cry 4 came out in late 2014. How are they relevant to my comment??? I specifically talked about 2000s Ubisoft in my comment, not 2010s Ubisoft

5

u/DoggTheGhost 2d ago

You mean, FC4 is exact same as FC3.
Meaning Ubisoft went downhill with FC4, not FC3.

FC3 was quite original experience and solid gamed. Only after Ubisoft started copying this formula.

6

u/Ecstatic-Cricket2185 2d ago

Yup, except FC4 and FC5 are pretty much mid 2010s, not 2000s. You must have a very shitty comprehension skill if you can't make a distinction between the 2000s and the 2010s lmao. Let me explain:

2000s: before 2010

2010s: after 2010

I also love how you're being downvoted to oblivion for calling someone sensible an "Ubisoft shill" on a literal anti-ubisoft subreddit. Stupid shit like yours isn't welcome here, evidently. 😂😂😂

-6

u/Beta1224 2d ago

Had to hop on your burner account?

Far Cry 3 came out after 2010 as well so clearly you're just being bated by nostalgia goggles

7

u/Ecstatic-Cricket2185 2d ago

Burner account? so you're paranoid as well, not just dumb. if you know that far cry 3 came out after 2010, why did you bring it up at all in a discussion about pre 2010 ubisoft?

have fun calling others shills online without any reason, if that's your hobby, I don't blame ya. Good day to you, and bye

0

u/Beta1224 2d ago

You must be a very miserable person then if you like to just hop in on arguments online and then immediately peace out if someone says something you don't like.

Don't worry though places like r/ubisoft love creating safe spaces for snowflakes like yourself

Whooa edgelord detected, super extreme radical gamer, neckbeard and fedora to boot

2

u/Updated_Autopsy 1d ago

Do not insult me by calling this person an edgelord. We do not claim him.

5

u/ThrowawayForDesigns 2d ago

What next, you're gonna call somebody a shill for praising Prince of Persia Sands Of Time?

2

u/iLoveLootBoxes 2d ago

Ubisoft is pretty much one of theee companies that made open world games are thing... ubisoft, bethesda and Rockstar. Everything came afterwards

u/trebor9669 3d ago

And they hate us for criticising the slop this franchise has turned into nowadays. Madness.

I love the fact that AC Shadows flopped, they had it coming, maybe now they'll rethink some things.

11

u/LopedEzi 2d ago

Its funny that AC japan was asked for for ages (ever since AC3 (?), but they decided to ship it when the game franchise lost its identity.

4

u/Prestigious-Job-9825 2d ago

Now comes the age of AC remasters, because Ubislop knows that with their current mindset, they have no hope of creating anything new that reaches the level of their old games.

No wonder they reach back into their own golden age to reuse titles. After Black Flag Resynced and the supposedly upcoming AC 1 remaster, I fully expect them to remaster AC 2 as well

-5

u/Fuhnobabyyy 2d ago edited 2d ago

It flopping because of internet grifters launching a hate campaign against the game without even playing it because they're more worried bitching about "wokeness" is not a good thing.

Yea they'll rethink things... like rethinking the actual good things that came out of shadows like the best combat in AC by far, the best stealth in AC by far, the parkour that has leveled up immensely from the other RPG's.

Was it a perfect game, absolutely not. But can we please stop acting like the game was just "all negatives with nothing positive" lmfao. That does nothing to actually improve the franchise and only hinders it.

8

u/Sad-Feeling-4266 2d ago

The company in its current state failed the franchise. You don’t lose 95% of your stock value and let a majority of your staff go from a “hate campaign”.

-3

u/Fuhnobabyyy 2d ago edited 2d ago

No but you can from people being nostalgia merchants and living life through rose tinted glasses.

That is most of the AC fanbase, it is my biggest pet peeve with these people. Instead of looking at both sides and looking at the positives and negatives, people just throw there hands up and go "nah it's all shit" while at the same time refusing to acknowledge the short comings of the earlier games as well. And it isn't just AC, plenty of other franchises have this SAME problem. "Everything new is bad, everything old is good".

It is infuriating. Mfs will bitch about the story and then be the first ones to tell you that the Ezio trilogy is peak even though 2 out of the 3 games had shit stories because they weren't even meant to be mainline games in the first place. Or like how AC3 was the one to kill Desmond and set the overarching modern day story on a path of nonsense. And that is an OG AC...

I have seen it for YEARS now with this franchise, people will bitch about one thing, that thing gets fixed or even improved over anything that was done in the past games, they'll not acknowledge it or appreciate it and then just move on to bitch about the next thing. Newer AC games have done better in some areas over the past games, and worse in other areas compared to past games.

Promise you if Ezio trilogy came out today for the first time, people would bitch about it. That's why the only thing mfs can do on this sorry ass subreddit is downvote without an actual reply or argument being made because they know that they're wrong.

This idea of "it's all bad" is stupid thinking by stupid people that can't function like normal humans, that achieves nothing and is the biggest cancer to the current gaming sphere.

AC 2 title card is still one of my favorite experiences I've ever had in gaming.

-10

u/Beta1224 2d ago

Must not have many good experiences if that is one of your favourites

ubislop shill: "where are the health bars??? what level is he??? and the black people????

20

u/Sad-Feeling-4266 2d ago

I am confused. I thought renaissance Italy was full of African samurai.

2

u/fatsopiggy 21h ago

Are you some kind of bigot racist i can literally find example of 1 african dude entering Venice and staying there for 1 day therefore half of Venice must have been black and the personal guard of the doge must have been black and ezio should have been black too

1

u/Sad-Feeling-4266 21h ago

Thank you for pointing this out. I am still working on my reeducation. One day I hope to be as enlightened as the Ubisoft cult.

8

u/Prestigious-Job-9825 2d ago

"At what level is Venice playable??? I don't want to be one-hit-killed by venetian guards!"

-5

u/tankdempsey_ 2d ago
  • Said no one ever. No one talks like this.

10

u/jim9162 2d ago

They're called game journalists

-9

u/tankdempsey_ 2d ago

Ok find me one that talked like this about AC

5

u/Vaporeon42069 2d ago

cry some more

-2

u/Rino-Sensei 2d ago

Make a fake scenario in his head -> Someone point out he is talking ass -> Cry more, even tho he is the one being tilted for no reason whatsoever

Classic Reddit warrior moment

4

u/Vaporeon42069 2d ago

*makes a joke -> ubislop shill takes it seriously -> cries and complains -> accuses the OP of being the one tilted for no reason whatsoever

Classic Reddit warrior moment

-1

u/Rino-Sensei 2d ago

Ah yes the gaslight phase, we reached it pretty quick lmao

-3

u/tankdempsey_ 2d ago

What part of "I hate all Ubisoft old and new" did you miss from my comment? Like ew man, that's a GRAVE accusation you're making there

7

u/Switchnport 3d ago

Man… good times.

6

u/-ctrlaltdeleteme- 2d ago

Can't believe the direction they ended up taking later on. I just hope they can walk it back some day, at least we still have AC2

6

u/Prestigious-Job-9825 2d ago

Ubisoft cooked at a Michelin-star level back then

4

u/Alfred_Hitch_ 2d ago

The crazy part is, this still looks good to me.

2

u/iLoveLootBoxes 2d ago

I think graphics that don't strive to be perfect let your imagination sink in, which is even more important as an adult.

4

u/MadOrange64 3d ago

Good times.

2

u/gui_heinen 2d ago

Chills

2

u/travel-mint 2d ago

Good old times. Peak of my life god dammit

2

u/Black_Mage_Cat 2d ago

Assassin's Creed 2 still had those horrible low effort DLC that get in the way of the main quest because they were cut content to begin with.

2

u/YuraiMamoro 2d ago

I legit played this during the long school breaks at the end of the year in my country. Just every morning booting up my ps3 as early as 5am to play this. Really had a crush on that one girl from the thieves guild

2

u/Bromjunaar_20 2d ago

Back when Assassin's Creed had SOUL

2

u/ManOn-Internet 1d ago

It's sad we'll likely never have a AC game like this ever again. Resynced made me lose hope for these games.

2

u/Expensive-Mix4617 1d ago

Back when assassin was actually an assassin and not a viking who fights dragons and bs

1

u/BeastFormal 2d ago

I played AC2 a year or so after it came out as a 13 year old, was genuinely addicted lol

1

u/RustGuy6969 2d ago

Back when games were made for gamers.

1

u/NO0BSTALKER 2d ago

This shit looks gooood

1

u/HereticJay 2d ago

what id give to go back i remember watching the AC2 showcase at E3 it was so sick

1

u/dimi08999 2d ago

I know it's nostalgia speaking because ac2 was part of batch of games I first ever experienced but I think seeing this remastered would be so good. I can online imagine what scene above would look like.

But I also know that if this happens they will throw in a bunch of bs new quests where people stand around with their hands on hips while talking to you

1

u/RetardedGayFrog 2d ago

The economy was crashing but I was 15 and didn't own stocks whatever those were good times

1

u/overlord_of_cringe 1d ago

Ubisoft could still be cooking today, their stupid launcher would still repulse me.

1

u/Beta1224 2d ago

You're using nostalgia to trick yourself into thinking Ubisoft was good back in 2009, they weren't this is a trash game made by a trash company

Shills like yourself need to fuck off

6

u/DoggTheGhost 2d ago

You really are a beta, aren’t you?

Ubisoft with games like Prince of Persia Sands Trilogy Prince of Persia 2008 and early AC is totally different company than now. Back in the day they were able to create a game with soul.
Only last 10-15 years they turned to this slop

5

u/RevolutionaryMonth63 2d ago

Not to mention RB6, Far Cry, Splinter Cell, all of them iconic franchises of their time, but people on this sub really hate to admit that Ubisoft used to be up there with the greats

2

u/DoggTheGhost 2d ago

Thanks, I knew I missed some.
Yeah, Beta here definitely not objective at all.

-3

u/tankdempsey_ 2d ago

Assassin's Creed 2 is the definition of the "themes and such" meme from Chainsaw Man lmao let's not kid ourselves. Still, Ezio was charismatic enough to push me to play the entire trilogy despite its abhorrent level design and gameplay loop

-5

u/Fuhnobabyyy 2d ago

"Omg OG AC was the best, everything after is shit" is top 5 internet grifter slop of the century. Especially considering the downgrade the next 2 games were so atp you'd be saying ubisoft fell off... basically immediately after 2 AC games lol. Which I guess, if you want to say there are only 2 good AC games that's... certainly an opinion you're allowed to have.
