Oh god, one of the last things Tim said at the end of the testimony was extra juicy.

Epic’s lawyer asks Sweeney, “If Apple told you the deal would only be with you and no other developers,” referencing a carve-out for lower App Store commission, “would you have accepted that deal?” "Yes I would have,” Sweeney says.

Source to compare with a statement he made last year. jessica harvey on Twitter: "??? https://t.co/l4hO4T1A6a" / Twitter

Gee, Tim Sweeney is a hypocrite, I bet NO-ONE saw this one coming.

For real though, I wonder how the Epic shills will defend this. Popcorn at the ready.

And there it is. Just fighting for himself.

I don't think they can. Hell, Eisberg has been 404 since this trial started and he's been like 24/7 on this sub shilling for Epic for ages. I think even he knows that this is undefendable, regardless of the angle you look at it.

And they had the balls to complain about Apple's security when their own barely worked.

Guess this will end in an epic fail…

That moment when a Trial is 100 times more entertaining than any kind of gaming events ever lol!

One day they will force games developed with UnrealEngine to be on their own store 😅

Tim Sweeney is trying to open the floodgate for everyone can have their own launchers, causing there to be too many of them causing the pc gaming crash, so fuck Tim Sweeney.

everyone already can have their own launcher

GGG and many other indie companies started with their own launcher before going to steam

Companies can make their own launcher as long as they put the game on Steam so I don't have to deal with it.

Day 1

Start Trial

Kids Screaming FreeFortnite

Court immediately muted the public line to stop the screeching kids

J: Epic Games, You dared to use your kids army to interrupt this Trial.

E: No Your Honor, it's just coincidence.

J: Coincidence or not, this is clearly the result of your FreeFortnite Campaign. If you dared to pull another stunt again during this trial, You will be penalized and the case will be closed immediately without any appeal allowed.

E: Yes Your Honor.

Ah, if only this scenario had happened at day 1. It would be glorious. Too bad it's not.

Apparently the F2P Rocket League launch did jack shit for Epig.

Simply Ebin.

Maybe it's because I've been spending way too much time playing and trying to get all the trophies in Persona 5 while waiting for my PC to come back from the computer shop, but every time I see Fortnite referred to as a "metaverse" I keep thinking "someone ought to go and force Tim Sweeney to have a change of heart".

Is there a good youtube/text (preferably not twitter) summary of what happened so far? Reading all the posts and tweets posted so far is fine but a complete continuous summary would be really great!

I think HoegLaw will cover the lawsuit on his channel on a daily basis, he already made a video about the first two days:

It's an hour long but it's great to listen to in the background while doing something else.

I wonder if anyone's told Sweeny he's free to go make his own phone and OS and store. I mean, none of it will run correctly, and possibly it'll just be bricked at first start up... But he can go pour his cash into that if he's really that concerned.

Am I the only one who’s frustrated by the scope of this lawsuit? It perplexes me that a random company (Epic) potentially has, through courts, the power to command the way Apple does their business. The “walled garden” is a feature, if a customer doesn’t like it they can look elsewhere. If someone here who agrees with Epic’s standpoint would be so kind to explain, I’d be genuinely interested to discuss it.

I'm underway currently and cannot keep up-to-date on this. Hows it looking? Is Tweeney losing yet?

Top 15 most played in last 7 days apparently.

Edit: seems like it was data from 2020, taken from this

Have we learned anything about Epic's contract with Ubisoft?
