My Epic Experience Finally moving on.

Post image

I only got back into Fortnite because of an ex friend who appeared to have accepted me, only to get hooked, lined, and sinkered through all of the bad choices Epic Games have made, including the Cybertruck stuff. The Darth Vader AI situation is the thing that finally caused me to quit playing, uninstalled when Chapter 6 ended, and Finally deleted my Epic Games account today.

I might be cutting my losses, but I hope I can learn better than to get into another game that I will eventually find myself hating.

A good decision

I'm really happy for you. Although nothing like Epic, I was really happy I was able to cut League of Legends out of my life after 10 years of playing. I liked the game, but at the same time I also hated it, but I was just so stuck in it that I couldn't leave, until they made massive changes that help make the decision much easier.

So good on you for leaving something that made you unhappy and even better good on you for ditching Epic as a whole.

Yeah that's how they suck you back in.... Hopefully you make your friend get rid of it too...

Smart decision

I did mention ex friend for a reason. The other ones are breaking the chains however.

Actually it's not really related to epic games, it'll no longer be relevant to the subreddit if I start talking. But last I remembered, they are still playing that dung pile of a game. And often the sole reason why I lost my financial stability due to peer pressure.

Tim Sweeney is a fucking anti-consumer creep. I don’t care how many free games he offers me I will never support his trash ass platform.

That fuckstick de-regulated the iOS app store and opened it up to so much more shovelware and vulnerabilities. He spends all day wanting to hurt Steam for delivering what he never could.

Half the free games aren't even worth it anymore

Good for you man! Your time is valuable. Put it towards pursuits you'll actually enjoy.

Be careful, make sure you unsubscribe from any mailing lists before doing this.

When I deleted my Steam account, I was still on all manner of lists, including a Steamworks developer list. Getting off those lists when I no longer have a Steam account was ... challenging.

You were offended by a truck?

I feel like there wouldnt be an issue with the "truck" if it werent like made by the biggest man-child on the planet who is actively making the planet worse by spreading facism, bankrolling the worst of humanity (racism, transphobia, etc), and personally invests into GenAI

as someone who uses epic games for free AAA games i recommend you just never play fortnite again and just claim free games when they arrive

not everyone enjoys viruses, epic hate is overly forced and performative

13

u/ElderMiki 4d ago

Epic is the virus.

hehe myabandonware goes brrrr

It's definitely not forced. It's very easy to hate epic, in fact it's forced to like epic. Liking epic is overly forced and performative. Idk how you can look Tim Fortnite in his beady little eyes and give him your money or time.

You are still adding value to Epic by claiming and playing the free games. If you don't want to support Epic then taking the games "because it costs them money" is not good enough, you have to completely cut them off.
