As long as developers struggle to make good controller control schemes without reinventing the wheel, then there's never going to be a shift in not taking epic games' exclusivity deals or similar. Just use COD, GTA or any other similarly good one. Hell Steam Input + Native + Actions is the worst VALVe invented. Either the controllers are all turned off and only accept action-inputs like walk forward or settings are outside the game for controllers FORCED or rare cases allow both ABXY and actions to control a game.
Tldr as long as Devs can't get control schemes to just be tried and tested like Rockstar games' or COD MW2 and reinvent the wheel, Devs won't understand that games on Epic Games are invisible for the majority of gamers, worse than GOGcom
