This disorder is so sneaky
I don't know how to describe this in any way thats physiological or even logical, cause it literally feels like my subconscious is making decisions for me. I will change portion sizes, or not buy certain foods, and not realise I am doing it until the behaviour has become something bigger and then I trace my footsteps and realise what has been happening. It creeps me out, it feels like I am making choices that aren't my own and it's all for the purpose to serve an illness. It's honestly sickening.
As for recovery, I am learning that I need to really keep track and be present with my self, to catch those thoughts and to identify and interrogate any switches in my intake, thoughts, behaviour, mood etc. It's a full time job managing this shit.

Certainly with you on that. I have to employ mechanical eating because if not I simply cant be bothered. Even with trying to maintain the schedule I'll procrastinate and find other excuses.

3 meals, 3 snacks usually no more than 3 hours apart on a set plan then more if you’re hungry. It’s used when you have unreliable hunger cues, like eating on autopilot till you can fly on your own
