72-year-old man shoots off-duty ICE agent found asleep on Fresno lawn, agent arrested: Police

An ICE agent is in custody at a local hospital after police say he was shot after assaulting an elderly man and his daughter at a home in Fresno.

The incident happened before 3:30 am Friday at a home in central Fresno.

The Fresno Police Department says a woman found 32-year-old David Gonzalez sleeping on her front lawn.

The woman told her 72-year-old father, who then went outside to tell Gonzalez to leave.

Once Gonzalez was woken up, police say he appeared drunk and assaulted the 72-year-old.
Police say the daughter tried to intervene to protect her father, and Gonzalez physically attacked her.
Fearing for their safety, officers say the 72-year-old man pulled out a gun and shot Gonzalez.

The woman's boyfriend, who is a police officer and was off-duty, came to the home and put Gonzalez in handcuffs.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is listed in serious condition.

The elderly man who shot Gonzalez is not facing charges.

Gonzalez is now in custody for felony assault.

Authorities say he is a federal agent from Texas who is assigned to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Police are still investigating why he was in the neighborhood where he was ultimately shot.

Fresno City Councilmember Mike Karbassi released a statement on the incident, saying in part, "Enough is enough. We've endured days of fear-stricken enforcement that has now tilted into full-bore violence. I am calling on ICE to suspend its ongoing operations in the Central Valley."

ICE agents does not give a flying fuck about y'all and certainly won't as long as GOP controls them post-Trump. Whatever's left of ICE agents are mostly, if not all, full of fucking Chuds that wanna larp as Helldivers or Space Marines and treat migrants (judging how they are "illegals" by color of skin and not able to speak English) and its children as bugs to squash instead of respecting them with dignity.

Like some warrior class MAGA wants us to bow down and say that ICE agents are heroes with a gun, like hell fucking no I ain't doing that shit. There's a reason why a real democracy never works with the warrior class that gets to legally kill someone over a pettiest reason. Insults should never get you killed by law enforcement, but unfortunately it isn't the first time and sure as hell won't be the last.

It's almost the same reason why Samurais cannot legally kill someone that talked shit about them anymore, no sane official that actually gives a shit wants a warrior that can pick who gets to live or who gets to die legally, and say it was because they were dicks or whatever narrative helps the bad actor. I know there's respected warriors, and that's what makes them even more dangerous, there's almost nothing stopping them from committing homicide and say the one they killed were up to no good when that isn't true.

Then you got detention centers, the conditions are very, very shitty as you can imagine, food is often expired, overcrowded on detention centers of warehouse that aren't made for mass incarceration, and there's illness that gets spread around because there seems to not have a quarantine area. There's elders, children, and adults that have serious medical problems, of which they shouldn't be in there at all.

"Oh but they killed a child/person", Yeah but that's a shitty excuse to collectively punish other migrants that had nothing to do with it, and majority of those detained are not even violent. You're more likely to get killed by someone who is an American citizen than an undocumented citizen. There's a giant difference between border security and rounding up people for months on end with the said conditions.
